With four world-class ski resorts tucked within its boundaries, Summit
County is the undisputed ski capital of the world. Colorado, in general, is
known for its unique brand of light, fluffy snow and its variety of ski
resorts along the Rocky Mountain chain. If you crave steep moguls and
heart-stopping vertical drops, our mountains have the double diamond runs
you need. If you dream of snowboard
action on a half pipe, come share the park with Olympic gold medalist Ross
Powers -- a frequent visitor. And if you're just learning to turn, you will
appreciate our expertly groomed terrain. In Summit
County, you can find everything
you're looking for at Arapahoe Basin,
Breckenridge, Copper Mountain
and Keystone Resorts.

Find some of the best tree skiing and riding
in the
Outback, experience the legendary bumps on North
Peak and enjoy top-rated cruisers
on Keystone Mountain.
Keystone offers a variety of terrain for the entire family, and the resort
is known for having one of the best ski schools in the nation with classes
for everyone, from the beginning skiers to experts and children's programs
as well. Women of all ages will enjoy Keystone's instructional series for
woman. The "Betty Fest" program provides on-mountain instruction in small
groups that suit specific ability levels and goals. The lessons include video
analysis and lectures on fitness, technique and nutrition.
Another unique offering at Keystone is the resort's two
gondolas, which are the only ones in the county. Keystone is also the only ski
resort in the region with night skiing, which keeps the fun going and the legs
burning until 9 PM. When you're
finally finished on the slopes, visit Keystone's two base-area villages for an
abundance of shopping, dining and après ski activities.
Keystone also has a variety of off-slope activities, such
as ice-skating and cross-country skiing.

Known as the "Local's Favorite", Copper
Mountain is the largest ski and
snowboard resort in Summit County.
It is also the only ski resort that features naturally separated terrain,
allowing beginners, intermediates and experts to ski and ride on their own
distinct areas of the mountain.
Copper has many new developments, including the New
Village at Copper pedestrian-only
center along with the Copper Beach
gathering area, the Schoolhouse at Union Creek one-stop ski school area, and
more conveniently located shops and lodging units.
Guests who book their lodging directly through Copper Mountain
Reservations are in for a treat with the BeeLine Advantage program, which
provides lodging guests with electronic gated lift access at the base of several
lifts, so you don't have to wait in line.
Copper also offers many off-slope activities throughout the
winter months that range from tubing to horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Situated on the Continental Divide, Arapahoe
Basin contains some of Summit
County's most rugged and
spectacular scenery. Known as "The Legend", A-Basin tops out
at 13,050 feet and offers the highest skiable terrain in North
America.
A-Basin is famous for open bowl and above-timberline slopes,
with more than 40 percent of the mountain classifieds as advanced and expert.
The ski area's signature run, Pavalacinni, is one of Colorado's
longest, steepest trails. But "The Basin" also offers plenty
of terrain for intermediates and novices, and beginners can ride the Molly
Hogan lift all day for just $5. Children can also ski for free with the purchase
of any full price adult lift ticket.
Arapahoe Basin
recently received recognition in the October Ski Magazine Reader Resort Survey
2001, where it was rated in the top ten nationwide for value, terrain, challenge
and snow.
In addition, A-Basin offers the High Adventure Series with
personalized instruction from the world's top extreme skiers and boarders and
professional freestyle and mogul skiers. And don't miss "Beachin
At The Basin", A-Basin's version of relaxing in the warm Colorado
sun. Don't worry about the parking -- it's free!
New for the 2003/2004 season, A-Basin will add snowmaking,
allowing the mountain to open earlier and stay open longer than ever before.
